# Arithmetic Operation Definition/Meaning:

An operation that forms a function of two variables. This function is usually one of the class of operations: add. subtract, multiply, and divide. These operations may be carried out as operations on integers, fractional numbers, or floating-point numbers. The operation is normally performed in the arithmetic and logic unit.
