Baud Rate Definition/Meaning:
The number of times per second that a system, especially a data
transmission channel, changes state. In the particular case of a binary
channel, the baud rate is equal to the bit rate, i.e.
1 baud = 1 bit per second
For a general channel,
1 baud = 1 digit per second
1
baud = 1 symbol per second
or whatever the states of the system represent, The
rate was named for J. M. E. Baudot.
