Debouncing Definition/Meaning:

A technique whereby a device is made to pause after the initial detection of the closure of a switch or some other electrical contact in order to allow the reverbations of the contact, known as contact bounce, to die away. The contact is then sampled again to determine its final state- Debouncing is often used in connection with the reading of keyboards.
