A property of a system that enables it to produce and amend
pictorial information in response to inputs from an operator at a terminal.
Although interactive graphics systems are not yet widely used by comparison with
interactive alphanumeric systems, they are growing rapidly in importance as an
aid to understanding data. A number of packages are becoming available that
allow numerical data to be presented in a variety of forms, e.g. pie charts,
histograms, and cartesian or polar graphs. See also computer graphics.
