Key to Disk Definition/Meaning:
A data entry system in which the data entered by a number of
keyboard operators is accumulated on a magnetic disk. The data is often verified
by comparing it with data entered by a second operator working from the same
original document. The small computer that routes the data from the operator to
the correct file on the disk can also be used to carry out data validation and
produce statistics on operator productivity.
