Multilayer Device Definition/Meaning:
An electronic device that is fabricated by a technique that
involves the deposition of a number of layers of conductive track onto an
insulating substrate, the individual layers being separated by a layer of
insulating material. Interconnections are made to the various conductive layers
by means of holes in the
insulating material. The technique is used, for example, to produce compact
multilayer circuit boards for hybrid integrated circuits and to fabricate
multilayer CMOS integrated circuits.
