Representing Semantic Object Model and Types of Semantic Object Model:

Like E-R model, we can transform semantic object model into relational data model. In the semantic object model, seven types of objects have been discussed. We can easily transform (convert) any type of semantic object into a relation. We have to handle less normalization problems, when a semantic object model is converted into relational database design. Thus, when transforming an object into relations, the relations are usually in DK/NF or close to it.

There are seven types of objects in semantic object model. A brief description is given below to represent each of these objects into relational database design.

Contents:

Representing Simple Object
Representing Composite Objects
Representing Compound Objects
Representing Hybrid Object
Representing Association Object
Representing Parent/Subtype Object
Representing Archetype/Version Objects
