What is flat panel and LCD monitor?
Flat Panel Monitor:
Flat-panel display is a lightweight, thin screen. It consumes less power than
CRT monitor. Flat-panel displays are made up of two plates of glass. These
plates contain a substance in between them. This substance is activated in
different ways.
There are three types of technologies used in Flat-Panel Display screens.
(i) Liquid-Crystal Display (LCD)
(ii) Electro-Luminescent Display (ELD)
(Hi) Gas-Plasma Display
LCD Monitor:
LCD uses liquid crystal between the glass plates. The output image is formed by
liquid crystal. When an electric current passes through liquid crystal, its
molecules twist This twisting causes some light waves to be blocked (while others
are passed through) and creating image on the screen.
