What is Open System Interconnection (OSI) model?
OSI stands for Open System Interconnection. It was developed by the
International Standard Organization (ISO) in 1983. OSI is the standard model of
data communication. It is the most widely accepted model for providing network
communication. OSI model provides a useful structure for defining and describing
various processes of networking. It organizes the communication process into
seven layers. Each performs a specific function in network communication.
